Volunteer With Us
Join Parents Engaged in Education to make a lasting impact in the lives of diverse, underserved and refugee children year-round!
Our Education Bank offers programs in education, arts, sports, resource support and more-- tailored to enrich young minds. Whether you're tutoring, stocking shelves, or coaching sports, your contribution fosters community and empowers children to reach their full potential.
The volunteer experience is most fulfilling when the volunteer is:
Flexible about task assignments
Committed to the hours they have agreed to serve, or if they are unable to meet their commitments, advise the office within 48 hours in order that alternative volunteers can be scheduled to cover.
Respectful of every child, youth and parents who are served by The Education Bank
Identify the areas that would give them the most fulfillment as a volunteer (see below for a summary of programs that may be of interest).
Communicate with staff if there are ideas that you may have to offer a program or run a program that would be of interest to our kids.
Volunteer Requirements
Must be 18 or older
English is preferred, although The Education Bank is a great place to expand your English skills

The Education Bank Programs
Welcome and Assist Families
Volunteers will assist families when they attend appointments at The Education Bank to receive free school supplies and other items that support them in school.
Coding / Robotics
The Education Bank is the only community group or school that offers robotics from age 4-18, through First Robotics Canada. If you are interested in coding or robotics, this opportunity will both challenge and fulfill you. Work with the ages that you are most comfortable with. Our senior First Robotics Tech and Compentitive teams will excite and include you in the competitive fields of this program. From qualifiers to provincials, there is never a dull moment.
Circle of Success Program
The Education Bank Circle of Success program brings together post-secondary and corporate partners who are committed to raising up the next generation of diverse students to achieve their career goals. Through mentorship, campus tours, skill building workshops and "day-in-the-life" experiences, our youth are broadening their skills and their view of the world around them. This allows them to prepare for the education that will help them achieve their goals.
Micro-School (Hybrid Model)
In partnership with Schoolio home-based learning, the Education Bank Micro-school is offered to our children on a hybrid basis. Although we prefer children attend in person for 2 hours a week, distance often makes this impossible. This program is setup to operate virtually, however, we offer our students the opportunity to attend in-person, however, for those attending online, there is time for them to ask the class leaders for some assistance so that they can succeed.
Seasonal Programs
Music (Piano)
Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball,
Tennis
LEGO emotions, numbers, literacy, math
French tutoring
Art and creative programs
Back to School Backpack Drive
Every year, The Education Bank provides all of our children/teens with a brand new backpack full of school supplies to give them an equitable start to the new school year. The goal is to build enough backpacks to not only serve our kids, but to support our community who also support students in need. This is a great program for volunteers to get involved in and even if they can only give a few hours or a day, they can make a significant impact.
